Here's the oil line. About 3 feet of AN-4 stainless braided hose and
2 90 degree swivel fittings. This is not the final product, just something to get
the project rolling. I will be adding some sort of tee in here to put the oil
pressure switch or an aftermarket oil pressure gauge on this. |

Here's where you tap off for the oil. This is a shot of the back of
the engine with the oil filter removed (large male thread at bottom). Directly above
the oil filter is the oil pressure switch. It will have a wire terminal and a boot
over it. The oil pressure sender is 1/8 BSP thread. Very similar to 1/8 NPT,
but not close enough. You need an adapter for 1/8 BSP to 1/8 NPT (shown below). |
 |
Here's the adapters for the engine side and the hose. On the far
right is the 1/8 BSP to 1/8 NPT adapter. Then to the left of that is a 1/8 NPT to
AN-4 adapter. Wrap all pipe threads in teflon tape (BSP and NPT). The end on
the right will thread into the block after the oil pressure sender is removed. |

Here's a shot with the oil line installed. I mounted the oil line
clamp to an existing threaded hole on the engine mount. The turbo end of the line
goes on the 7/16 IF to AN-4 adapter which is screwed into the turbo. It took some
tweaking on the engine side to get the line to pass between the intake manifold and the
timing belt cover without coming too close to either. I also needed to tweak the
position of the clamp to get the line to clear the engine mount on the front side.
Next step will be to break the line to put in a tee. Still have to figure out the
best place to do this. |
